Child restraints in personalised transport vehicles

New information regarding to Child restraints in personalised transport vehicles In Queensland, drivers of personalised transport services, such as taxis, limousine and rideshare services are exempt from the requirement to ensure children are restrained in an approved child restraint. These services are exempt due to the range of child restraints that would need to be carried in each vehicle.

Parents and carers who wish to make use of a child restraint are encouraged to supply their own child restraint or make prior arrangements with the personalised transport service to have a suitable child restraint available for use. If a child restraint is available for use, the driver of the vehicle is responsible for the safe restraint of the child in that restraint.
