# Child Seats & Queensland Child Restraint Law

Andy’s Luxury Transport provides child, baby and booster seats on request for fixed-price airport transfers from $95, across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Byron Bay and Northern NSW. Seats are matched to your child’s age and size, and any transfer crossing into NSW requires a child restraint by law. ## Queensland Child Seat Laws in Plain English

Queensland child restraint rules are designed to keep children travelling in a suitable, approved restraint that fits their age and size. As a general guide, babies usually travel in rear-facing restraints, young children may use rear-facing or forward-facing restraints, and older children often need a booster seat until an adult seatbelt fits correctly. Whichever restraint you need, it should be correctly fitted, fastened and adjusted for the child. For a smooth transfer, simply tell us each child’s age and the seat type you require before your booking is confirmed.

## Approved Child Restraints

Child restraints used on Australian roads are expected to meet the relevant Australian Standards. If you are bringing your own restraint, please check that it is suitable and approved for Australian road use before you travel, as imported seats may not meet local requirements. For most families, the simplest option is to request the seat type you need from us in advance. Common requests include rear-facing baby seats, forward-facing child seats and booster seats.

## Baby Seats & Rear-Facing Requests

Babies commonly travel in rear-facing restraints. Please request a rear-facing baby seat before your booking is confirmed and include your baby’s age, passenger count and luggage details. Families with babies often need extra room for prams, baby bags, travel cots and suitcases, so our People Mover is usually the most practical choice.

## Toddler Seats & Forward-Facing Requests

Toddlers may need a rear-facing or forward-facing child restraint depending on their age, size and suitability. When booking, tell us the child’s age and which seat type you are requesting. ## Booster Seats & Older Children

Older children may still need a booster seat until the adult seatbelt fits correctly. Queensland road rules include restrictions around children sitting in the front seat, so families should always check the current Queensland Government rules before travel. As a practical guide, children are usually safest and easiest to manage in the rear seating rows with a suitable child restraint or booster. Family bookings often include more luggage than a standard airport transfer — prams, travel cots, baby bags, snack bags and large suitcases.
